Global enterprise solutions provider secures wide area network communications between 30 sites with Fortinet™ FortiGate™ systems
Stockholm, Sweden, May 30, 2005
- Fortinet - the pioneer and market leader of Unified Threat Management and only provider of ASIC-accelerated, network-based antivirus firewall systems for real-time network protection
- today announced that Intentia, a global enterprise solutions provider, has chosen Fortinet FortiGate 800, FortiGate 200A and FortiGate 60 systems to protect its wide area network (WAN) between 30 sites around the world, including Stockholm, Linköping, Sydney, Paris, London, Chicago and Tokyo, against network security threats.
Intentia is a global enterprise solutions provider with more then 3000 costumers in 40 different countries around the world. In June 2004 Intentia decided to review its global network policy, opting to create virtual private networks (VPNs) to connect its global wide area network (WAN). After evaluating solutions from a variety of security vendors, Intentia chose to replace its former solution, with Fortinet FortiGate units.
Intentia selected Fortinet FortiGate systems because of their comprehensive unified threat management functionality, which enabled them to provide complete content protection for their distributed global network through a single, easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI).
Deployment of Fortinet's FortiGate systems began in November 2004. To date, Intentia has deployed an enterprise-class FortiGate-800 HA system at its corporate headquarters in Stockholm, eight mid-range FortiGate-200A HA systems at its key offices in Europe, USA and APAC, and multiple FortiGate-60 systems to protect branch offices around the globe.
"When we began to evaluate the FortiGate systems, the advantages of an integrated approach to security became immediately apparent, and this was a very important factor in our choice," said Tryggve Rehn manager of datacommunication at Intentia. "We are now able to provide the same high level of security to each of our offices through a single unified threat management system -providing us with a highly efficient, cost-effective global security solution."
Fortinet's award-winning FortiGate™ series of ASIC-accelerated antivirus firewalls detect and eliminate the most damaging, content-based threats from email and Web traffic such as viruses, worms, intrusions, inappropriate Web content and more - in real time. As the recognized leader in Unified Threat Management systems, Fortinet protects the networks of everyone from small offices to large MSSPs. The capabilities of all FortiGate systems include: Antivirus, Content Filtering, Traffic Shaping, Firewall, VPN, Intrusion Detection and Prevention, Anti-Spam and Virtual Domains.
Matias Cuba, Regional Director Nordics and Eastern Europe said, "Fortinet's FortiGate systems are the logical solution to Intentia's security needs - efficiently protecting a widely distributed network. Intentia's choice of FortiGate is a great endorsement, illustrating that globally-renowned enterprises understand the advantage of adopting a unified threat management approach to help protect their networks against increasingly-complex network security threats."
